OI Elections team member Saila Erion sent us this info from De-escalate Washington on I-940 (which we endorsed last fall) and how we can help get it passed in November. If you would like to learn more about the initiative please check out this information video we made last fall: www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=8&v=HqLGYYO2pcQ
De-Escalate Washington Campaign Volunteer Opportunities from the De-Escalate Volunteer Team
Are you ready to tell Washington voters that it's time to vote YES on 940? Cause, it's all we're talking about!
All of us want to ensure our families our safe in interactions with law enforcement, whether we are white, black, or brown, people with disabilities, folks with mental health issues, LGBTQ, or from all walks of life. When our communities come together, we make history, fighting for justice and civil rights. In just one week, ballots will be in the hands of Washington voters and we need YOU to make history again. Help us call and remind voters to vote YES on 940 to improve training and save lives.
Join 940 supporters from across the state in four upcoming virtual phone banks. That's right, virtual - meaning you can call from anywhere with a computer connected to the internet. Call from bed, the couch, the porch - wherever you are, you can reach voters and help mobilize a big win for 940.
First thing we need you to do is sign up! RSVP on our volunteer page and we will follow up with the links to the virtual phone bank. During the phone bank, you will also be able to join a Zoom video conference for a live training, tech support, and a virtual volunteer gathering!
Will you help us connect with voters and remind them to vote YES on 940 to improve training and save lives?
