Fasten your seat belts, folks. We are in for a wild ride in the last 2 weeks of the campaign to flip the House.
A Celinda Lake poll was released Friday October 12th, showing Carolyn Long besting incumbent Republican Jaime Herrera-Beutler by 2 points, 45% to 43%.
A slim lead and well within the margin of error (4.9%), you say? Yes, but aren’t we happy to be on the right side of that margin!!!
Carolyn is a great person – I met her and talked with her at one of her town halls. She’s honest, respectful, hopeful, smart, energetic and compassionate. PLUS, she is a terrific campaigner, connecting with everyone through her ability to truly listen to people.
Many of you have already canvassed for Carolyn in Centralia, Chehalis or Longview; phone-banked for her, calling low-turn-out Democrats in the 3rd; written postcards to voters in the 3rd; hosted fundraisers for Carolyn; sent in checks -- all these things and more, and thank you for helping keep the ball rolling.
But now’s the time for pedal to the metal. Carolyn takes no PAC money and relies entirely on small individual contributions and VOLUNTEER ENERGY. We need you now. Please look at the list below for all the opportunities to help out. Pick one to do every week.
We CAN win, and this seat CAN be the one that is decisive in flipping the House and stopping Trump. But only if we volunteers make it a priority and step up.
Let’s all DO SOMETHING to help Carolyn win – THANK YOU!

In the past, The Columbian had continued to endorse Jaime Herrera-Beutler.
